Imagine having no rights and being told what to do. This is how the patriots felt in 1776. The patriots have been long deciding whether or not they wanted independence. Britain created some very unfair laws and acts as well that influenced their decision. In 1776 the colonists should have declared independence because Britain treated them with no rights and 3 million people were for liberty. One of the reasons why the patriots should have declared independence is that Britain gave them no rights. As seen in the John Adams movie, there was an attack on bunker hill.
