Have you ever been willing to die for someone? In William shakespeare's famous , Romeo and Juliet , lovers emerged from two rivaling houses endure a tragedy that could have been avoided. Along with many other factors and characters,Friar Lawrence certainly contributed to the events leading to the violent death of both Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence had helped in bringing together the two members of feuding families with the hope of erasing the strong sense of hate the households held towards each other. “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be, For this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households rancor to pure love.”( Act 2. Scene 3; 97-99) However, it is questionable as to why he hadn’t just tried to cremind the capulets and the montagues that if they deny their beloved children’s happiness it would be because of a meaningless vendetta , it would not have been impossible for them to agree to come to peace. In a retrospective manner, it would have also been possible for them to plan out certain events that would lead to the reunion of law and order between both houses.
