Genghis Khan was a very successful Mongol leader that united the Mongols and is famous for creating the Mongol Empire; the largest empire in human history. In 1662 he was born in North Central Mongolia. His mother “Hoelun” was kidnapped by his Father Yesugei“and forced into marriage. Genghis wasn't his original name his original name was “Temujin” he got this name after a Tatar chieftain that his father, Yesukhei, had captured. According to legend he was destined to be a great leader because of the blood clot in his hands. During this time there was a folktale that said if a you where a young boy that had a blood clot in his hand your were destined to be a create leader. In terms of military, Genghis was a strong ruler that was organized, smart, and unmerciful against opposition. He organized various armies of 10,000 soldiers that contained 1000 man brigades, 100 man companies, and 10 man squads. He used many different strategies that involved trickery and delusions. One of his strategies involved sending small cavalry units to attack, having them retreat, and bringing the real army to attack which proved to be more deadly.
