The Most Loved, Lolita
The banning of books has always been a controversial issue in the US. There are some books with great lessons that are restricting because of its few explicit. A good example is a book Lolita that also has its movie. The talk of this banned book has gone through decades; many label it as disgusting and poisonous to the youth. This book exposes various themes like obsession and pedophilia, and the language of literacy. Although he's gotten plenty of criticism, the author, Vladimir Nabokov, says he is proud of this book.
Lolita is narrated by the main character, Humbert, a 40 year old man who had this lover when he was younger but she died, and from there his obsession with young pubescent girls started. He is a sexual pervert and a pedophile; he starts this …show more content…

Humbert kidnaps this little girl, and they roam the U.S, while they’re on their long journey they start having sexual intercourse. He manipulates Lolita but she subtlely does the same to him, she threatens to report him when she doesn’t have it her way and tries to run away when he raises his voice. Humbert is telling this whole story to the jury while he’s waiting for his jury to come to date, he uses fancy language to get the audience on his side. Lolita, written by the famous Russian author Vladimir Nabokov, who lived in the United States. He had a hard time contacting a publisher who would willingly publish the book in the US, so he turned to Olympia Press located in Paris. According to John Colapinto(The New Yorker), Nabokov had a difficult time during his first seven years in America, he had no money nor employment. In 1948, he managed to get a job as a professor in Cornell teaching Russian Literature. Since the success of Lolita Nabokov has referred to himself as a proud American author. Lolita was reviewed for banning in 1959 although Lolita had already been published in the US, Italy, Germany, and Netherlands. The book soon was
