With these major technological advances, we as a culture tend to miss the morals and limitations humans have in creating such developments. Specifically, the idea of ethically creating robots and computerized machines has recently become a huge topic that is talked about and discussed in terms of its advantages in today’s technological world. I do strongly agree with what Hanson is saying; however, because I have given my alternate solutions to why creating robots is unethical, I believe my position on this manner is more appropriate. My proposal that these machines should have certain boundaries allows for these robots to still be made and can still further our human intellect. Robots, despite their advantages that Hanson explains in his article, have many disadvantages that could lead to downfall in society. As said before, if we create robotic machines to have more power than us, then that questions our limitations as humans. If we give them more powerful knowledge than we will ever be capable of, they could undermine our presence and threaten human existence as its known today. Creating them also could be disastrous if the wrong people get a hold of them, like corrupt businesses or terrorists. Once these robots are made they can act as technological weapons. Grouping highly-educated robots with dictators will allow for both the robot and the individual to attain their powerful tactics, and could create even more dangerous situations than currently
