The Dangers of Boxing From training facilities to huge arenas, boxing is an international sport that has the eyes of millions of people around the world. Boxing involves a lot of training and preparation for the hard-hitting sport it is. Although boxing is a very popular and entertaining sport to watch, boxing should be banned because it can cause long-term injuries to the head and can possibly kill someone. Injuries to the head are one of the most common injuries occurring in boxing. In Source G, after explaining why boxing should be banned, Nathanson argues that what makes boxing different from any other sport is the "chronic and continuing damage of the brain" that every boxer endures as they participate in the sport. Despite the fact that injuries regularly occur in the ring, many other people argue that boxing shouldn't be banned because it is a way for many people to better themselves and keep themselves away from starting bad habits. However, even though a boxer enjoys what they are doing, they are still putting their bodies and lives at risk for the entertainment of millions of people and for money. The fact that boxing causes injuries to the head and includes the possibility of death, can take away from the fun and enjoyment of watching the sport. Boxing continues to be a very dangerous sport, many people do like to agree because they enjoy watching people fight. Constant blows to a boxer's head are very dangerous as the brain is continuously getting hurt. This damage can lead to death as it is not good for the brain of a
