Attributing human form or personality to things that are not human is defined as anthropomorphizing. When following and recording wild animals it is a known fact that you shouldn’t take part in this. This was not the case for the state of Montana. Humans got politically and emotionally attached to the reintroduction of the Nine mile wolves. Throughout this controversial period of time, humans played a significant role in changing the fate of these wolves forever.

While most modern Americans are most familiar with the gray wolf, when Europeans first colonized the New World, the red wolf was likely the first wolf species that they came in contact with. Moreover, since the red wolf was the first wolf species that the colonists came into contact with, it was also the first to be persecuted (Hinton et al.). The consequences of this first interaction have ricochet across history as the red wolf was hunted to extinction in 1980. Even now, after extensive interventions to breed the wolves in captivity and reintroduce them, the red wolf is till an endangered species (“Red Wolf” 2017).

I do agree with the U.S. Federal government’s management plan for wild horses. Based on the reading, the U.S. Federal government had the best interest of wild horses in mind when declaring this act. The act protects horses from humans by making wild horses components of the public land they occupy. The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act prevents humans from slaughtering wild horses. The act also considers the natural behaviors of horses and how these behaviors will affect the longevity of the wild horse population.

The question of the necessity of zoos is extremely controversial nowadays. There are many people who advocate for replacing them with sanctuaries as they believe money spent on keeping wild animals captive might have been used for conserving them in wild. Others are concerned that zoos serve not only for people's pleasure but for preserving and keeping populations that otherwise would go extinct. There are sufficient arguments for both points of view, expressed in various articles that are dedicated to the significant topic. “Do elephants belong in zoos?” by Jeffrey P. Cohn and “Eight reasons why zoos are good for conservation” by James Borrell are the examples of such articles.
