Whether it is a notebook, a computer, or a napkin, one can manifest a new world of happiness or sadness. The heart clenching words that poetry express give positive direction to some readers. When one is struggling, poems can lead the way to new way of living. In this case, Nelson Mandela read “Invictus” during his captivity. He sought this poem as a sign to keep his soul strong, confident, and hopeful. Although it gave Mandela faith, what else does this significant poem have to portray? The poem, “Invictus,” was written by the author, WIlliam Ernest Henley. As a child, Henley suffered from tuberculosis to the bone. Because of this massive
