Has there ever been a time when someone was so caught up into something that they forgot their main focus? This happens a lot in everyone's life. Sometimes there comes a time where someone is focused on one thing and they end up getting sidetracked and they lose their main focus. This happens in the book we just recently read, Lord of the Flies. In the book I think everyone can agree, including myself, that the boys main goal after getting stranded on the island is to get rescued. But, eventually they lose track of this goal and become more focused on each other and trying to survive. Also, reading the article “William Golding’s Legacy” gave me a more in depth look. Something that really stood out to me from both the book and article was; if everyone does not work together the goal that is set will not be reached. It takes more than one person to achieve a goal. People need the help of others whether they think they do or no. It is near impossible to do anything by yourself anymore. The book explains this. The boys end up splitting up and fighting against each other then being focused on getting rescued. Instead of getting rescued, they are now more focused on seeing who will survive the longest. With this, this causes many tensions between all the boys. This also happens in Big Brother. The two groups the “rich” and the “poor” become more focused on each other they lose track of their common enemy, Big brother. I did not only learn things from the book, I also had many thoughts about
