Neil Diamond 's documentary “Reel Injun” depicts the historical portrayal of the treatment of the First Nations in America. It brings awareness to the truth behind not only First Nations, but other stereotyped groups. For example, that many people often mistake all members of the Muslim community as Extremists who commit inhumane acts of terrorism. Small percentages of the population who fit the stereotyped criteria may often unintentionally represent their background negatively and as a whole. These are then misinterpreted by society ultimately having a biased view on groups of people.

Frank Ocean once said, “When you 're happy, you enjoy the music. But when you 're sad, you understand the lyrics.” Why does one have to be sad to “understand the lyrics”? Evaluating a song and being given the ability to relate enhances one’s respect for the composer. For example, when one first listens to “Danny’s Song” by Kenny Loggins, they probably believe the song is about love, however, once a person analyzes the lyrics the realize that the song is actually a story of a couple who are having a baby boy.
"The longest day of the year" is when a man reached his braking point (26). This man looking down from the roof of a building, standing on the "parapet", able to see all the people rushing round the city (27). In the poem "Summer Solstice" by Sharon Olds the narrator is standing in the distance watching a man attempt to commit suicide. While the police try to stop him form ending his life.

The Poietic Aspect of Hendrix 's "All Along the Watchtower" Jimi Hendrix, probably one of the greatest guitarists of all time, in 1968 covered "All along the watchtower," a song originally written and performed a few months earlier by Bob Dylan. Even though Hendrix 's admiration for Dylan 's work was well known , his choice to cover a song belonging to a completely different music genre is emblematic. So why did Hendrix decide to cover Bob Dylan 's "All along the watchtower?" In this paper, I will argue that Hendrix 's cover of Dylan 's "All along the watchtower," thanks to its lyrics and sound dynamic, optimally conveys his anti-war and anti-violence beliefs.
For this discussion I choose a musician Louise Armstrong song from Pandora. When I type Louis Armstrong song, there were hundreds of his records. I choose a “Stardust” track from the album called “Don 't Get Around Much Anymore “. This song is composed by the popular song composer by Hoagy Carmichael in 1927. This song has many versions that recorded by other jazz great musician added to Armstrong.
As time passes, people often think of their pasts and what they have done in their life, both positively and negatively. The lyrics of the song resonate with everyone, even the famous singer Macklemore who produced the song “Good Old Days.” In the song, he reflects on his past and the times he missed or regretted. Macklemore also writes “We’ve come so far, I guess I’m proud” which also shows that he’s happy with the choices he made and that they have gotten him to where he is now—a famous musician and writer. The music in the song has an upbeat and appealing tone to it with excellent lyrics, which made it a top 40 song in the U.S.

By nature, shorter poems are more densely packed with cues and devices because authors cannot express their intended message over the sweeping length of a poem but rather they must be more concise and creative. A poet may write a shorter poem to juxtapose a simple surface message to a more meaningful deeper message. Thus, complexity and artistic value are unrelated to length, but rather, they are developed through masterful writing. “Good Times” by Lucille Clifton embodies the double-edged sword of complex storytelling within a short poem, as she identifies the speaker 's occasional good memories to develop an image of the speaker’s typical abject life. The short poem is crafted with patterns of repetition, for there are so few lines to fit meaningful insight into.
I thought it was going to be the worst weekend of my life. I couldn’t use my phone or go on my computer. It seemed as if my weekend couldn’t get worse . I spent the first part out in the fresh air. I just sat there and looked outside.
I was still half asleep and I missed having a simple cup of coffee You. never realize how much you take for granted until it all gets taken away. Summer Won’t Last Forever In “Summer of the Ladybirds” by Vivian Smith, the poet uses assonance, figurative language, and alliteration to convey that humans hold on to what is not permanent. First, assonance is used when the poet describes the ladybirds as “creatures from the world of leaf and flower.” The usage of the “ea” sounds emphasizes and draws attention to the ladybirds being from a different world from humans, one of “leaf and flower.” The main point that this phrasing gives prominence to is that leaves and flowers are much more perishable than other products of nature, such as humans.
