I joined him at the table on a porch on a Saturday afternoon. As he sat there, with a smile on his face and gulping down his favorite drink, cold beer, he told me stories about his life. My best friend’s dad, Wilson, reminisced the good and bad days from his childhood to present day. The good days where he immigrated here to the US and had the opportunity to a better life for himself and his family. Whereas the bad days, he grew up working long hours a day since he was a child. Along with the millions of immigrants that immigrated to the US, including Wilson, he came to America and obtained a job where he will soon be able to buy a house. So when Wilson enrolled in college, he knew he was going to achieve his goals that will positively affect his life. He majored in Social Communications and was able to have a part-time job being a radio announcer. During his time in college, he admired three teachers that influenced him to thrive for his American Dream. The first teacher, he admired the most, explained the purpose of life and the importance of enjoying life as much as you can. Next, the second teacher encouraged him to do the best and to always look out for his American Dream regardless of the obstacles you need to surpass. Lastly, the third teacher, who was strict, explained the real purpose of college. In which was to acknowledge the work in his classes instead of just coming to school and getting a degree. With these three teachers, Wilson was able to finish college and become a social communication major. This showed the achievement of his early
