In the narrative Hands authored by Sherwood Anderson announces the presence of an elderly, overweight, and nervous man. His name is Wing Biddlebum. “of a ravine near the town of Winesburg, Ohio, a fat little old man walked nervously up and down…. Wing Biddlebaum”. (Anderson 1). In the townspeople of Winesburg had a familiar knowledge of Wing by the tremulous sensational movement his fingers and palms would give off. “Wing Biddlebaum talked much with his hands. The slender expressive fingers, forever active, forever striving to conceal themselves in his pockets or behind”. (Anderson 2). Sherwood Anderson always goes back to the movement of Wings hands made which lead to a brainstorm that there is conflict that Wing Biddlebaulm is going through. Wings hands always in motion makes many not have knowledgement of the internal and external conflict that has occurred in his life. Wings hands will be the primary source to the conflict he is dealing with at this time.
