Winnipeg is a city in and the capital of Manitoba , in S Canada. The narrator of this is a citizen of Winnipeg and he tells us about the lifestyle and events in Winnipeg. In the movie there is only the narrator narrating the stories with hardly a few dialogues by the other characters in the story. The experience of Winnipeg being this dreamy land is shown. The narrator is travelling and in his dream he narrates how the city has this strange way of inclining the citizens towards the city that it becomes impossible to leave the city. He tells us that people have won tickets in the form of awards which takes you out of the city but not a single winner of this award has boarded the train that takes them out of the city. …show more content…

Watching the movie itself brings lethargy in you as the narrator is continuously sleeping and dreaming. Everyone around him are sleeping, sleep walking, dream walking. It seemed to be this dreamy place where no one is ever aware of what is going. The whole scenario gives you a feeling of this place where no one knows what is happening and everyone are puppets working under the kingship of the city. The law of the city supported the lethargy of the people and allowed people to carry keys to their old dreamy addresses. The people of Winnipeg were called the citizens of the night. Winnipeg has 10 times the rate of sleep walking people of that of any city. While leaving Winnipeg he saw these ghosts of the city that won’t let him go. They reminded him of the hardships in the city. He felt the presence of the absence. When you miss a place the background and the things in the picture become more important than the people in the picture. It gives you a sense of the space you’re missing at this moment. The movie portrayed what Winnipeg meant to him. Even if it was just a city how every event affected his life and changed his
