It was not uncommon for women at this time to work in factories with many working in ammunition factories. The women who worked in the ammunition factories played an important role in the war effort by doing some of the most important work (Kim). These women worked extremely hard and it was argued that they put their lives in danger almost as much as the men enlisted in the war. They worked long shifts, typically 10-12 hours a day, working with highly-explosive materials (Munitions Factories). Most, if not all, factory jobs required women to operate machinery which was heavy and dangerous, causing many injuries.

Fashion became an important part of the 1950’s with the culture changes and social changes. After World War 2 was over there was a bigger break of fabrics, giving them a new look of fashion. By this happening in the 50’s clothing became a way to express society 's individual identity in the decade. Russia’s climate affected women’s fashion in the 50’s majorly.
Australia’s home front played a significant and important role in World War One. Thousands of people took the roles that were previously filled by men, organisations were created to support the soldiers, care packages were manufactured, charities were created to fund help, and various other things. In this essay, I will be covering the use of propaganda, women’s roles, the Australian government’s control of enemy aliens and their censorship of information. During World War One, propaganda was used for various things such as to encourage more people to enlist in the army, for charities to collect donations, to create a strong hatred for the enemy and a sense of pride in their own country.
On December 7, 1941 the Japanese fulfilled their attack on Pearl Harbor and this became the onset of the World War II for the United States. For the next few years the United States was fighting the war to destroy fascism in Europe and to get the Japanese out of the Pacific Coast. Many changes occurred which can be observed in the experiences of some groups and their home front experience. Although… Freedom during the war took on many definitions for the American people, for some groups freedom was denied all together. While women experienced expansions in their economic freedom, Japanese Americans experienced limitations in all aspects of their lives.
Canadian Women’s Contribution to the war effort /5 The contribution of Canadian women during WW1 is undisputed in having massive impact on societal perceptions of women. While men were conscripted to fight across the sea, women were left to fill the holes in the economy and take up jobs so as to keep workplaces running smoothly. Before the war, women were not able to vote, own land, receive extensive education, or take opportunities that arose in the workplace.
The Effect of Women on the Outcome of World War Two World War II effected women tremendously by taking them out of their comfort zones and chucking them into the work force and pushing them to do most of the work men normally would have been doing. The war also effected women by providing opportunities for them to serve in non-traditional roles; in fact, some of them enlisted into the military to serve the United States. The way the war effected women is that they had to take care of family in addition to performing work normally done by men. It was difficult to find people to watch after kids which made life during this time very difficult. After the end of World War II society in general was effected considering the baby boom.
Tailored clothes were also designed with much more aesthetic detail such as pictures being “embroidered by hand” (Source 2. 5) which meant clothes took hours upon hours to finish. These fancy clothes were a symbol of wealth because only the rich could afford to have these clothes custom made for them. Lower or middle class people often had their own family members making clothes for them because they could not afford to have a tailor. Most clothes made by lower to middle class people were only made of “one or two pieces of cloth” (Source 2. 4) in order to conserve cloth for other clothing. As time when on tailoring changed from making fancy designs to making clothes that fit the body well and looked good.
In order for quality clothing to be created, it had to be done by a tailor, which in itself was costly. On top of that, the creation and obtaining of fabrics was significantly more expensive than actually creating the garments. Because of this, most people could not afford
During World War II, manufacturers put more effort into supplying the wartime needs of Europe, creating shortages of raw materials at home. Automobile manufacturers gradually converted their factories to build military vehicles and clothing manufacturers made uniforms for the military (Vergun). Due to these shortages, clothes became tighter and more versatile to use less fabric. Rural dwellers including millions of women, ethnic minorities, and teenagers moved to the cities to work in factories. After the war, clothes became more luxurious as fabrics used were now heavy and expensive.
A lot of things factored when WWI happened all across the globe, and United States had some interesting things happen on there main land. Interesting things such as women having the right to vote, Showing that Democracy is safe for the world, and the type of weapons used during WWI that we would use in todays wars. WWI played a big factor in the change of the United States that helped us get to were we are in our era. Women wanted to be involved in the wars by being able to vote during WWI. Over many years women fought for there right to vote through activist and organized parties so they can feel like they are part of the United States citizens.
American Women during World War 2 had many responsibilities at war, work, and home. But they did not have many equal rights compared to the rest of the society. The women’s rights and responsibilities topic is very interesting. One is understanding and knowing the history about the responsibilities women had to do and how hard working they were. Between 1914 and 1918 the world was massively shaken by what came to be known as the World War 1. This period of time brought a huge amount of changes during and after the war. Not only men were involved, but also women played an important role in it. Possibly the best known effect on women of WW1 was the opening up of a massive range of new jobs for them. As men left their old work to fill the need for soldiers women were able and certainly needed, to take place in the work force.
The fabrics were imported from India and manufactured in the north of England which contributed to the expanding British textile trade. (White, M) However, the new fabrics were quickly available for the lower ranks of society and allowed ordinary men and women to copy their superiors. This led to what Lemire describes as democratization of fashion in Fashion’s Favourite. The influence of the new consumerist culture was therefore reflected in the new desire for fashion to appeal aesthetically as opposed to the mere usefulness of clothing.
