Dying to be thin
Seductive, luscious, desirable; those are terms that describe a women’s appearance in advertisements these days, and I’s no longer surprising rather common to see women in appealing clothing advertising their companies’ respective product. For decades, many of the advertisements on the media have included women with physiques that are deemed ideal. There are many different views and opinions toward women exposing their ‘perfect’ physique, but in the marketing industry it is considered as an appropriate strategy. Also, many proclaim about the advertising techniques using women, and how they catch the audience’s eye. As a result, many women witnessing this phenomenon might experience a decrease in their confidence levels

In the early era, people who spot advertisements would agree that there were a great quantity of commercials and advertisements that promote pills to become thin, and that they also reinforce the idea that to be happy and successful we must be thin. The wrong concept, alerted young girls to create an image of what a perfect body looks like. Women are dying to have slim bodies, so they decide to go on a ‘strict diet’, in which they starve themselves for days. It seems like the media is trying to pressure women to obtain a perfect body. It is really upsetting how the media could influence up to 69% of girls, who have admitted that magazine models have had an influence on them (Magazine Models Impact Girls' Desire to Lose Weight, 1999). Thanks to this advertising campaign, the diet industry has gained a significant amount of profit by selling their products, making over $33 million dollars in revenue ( Schneider, K. "Mission Impossible." People Magazine , June, 1996.), which means that their advertisements as well as advertisers were successful . However, the companies are either blind to the fact that they are affecting many teenagers from around the world or they choose it ignore
