Women In Cormac Mccarthy's The Road

What would do in a world where women are scarce and sorrowful? The dad, son, mother, pregnant woman, and mother in the end are all portrayed as weak. This book explains what happens post- apocalyptic and the struggles of traveling down the road. Some people are alone, some people are with child, and some in large groups. Families must go against weather, starvation, and cannibalism. In the end the dad doesn’t make it and the by moves on smarter and better at surviving. In Cormac McCarthy’s novel, “The road”, McCarthy uses descriptive language to prove that women are weak and women always encounter death and sadness, however in parts of the book a strong woman is shown.
