Many women in the early 1900’s sought for change. Some rose to power and took leadership over many organizations that pushed for equality. Women’s battle for voting rights was specifically led by Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Alice Paul. These women devoted most of their life to create a foundation which we live upon today. Women’s struggles lasted many decades until they finally achieved some equality under the 19th amendment.
According to Zeus “A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his HEART.” In the Odyssey, Odysseus tries to get home to his wife and son, but he always seems to get set back. Along the way, Odysseus faces obstacles on his journey home. Odysseus shows he is a hero throughout the story when he saves his crew from the Cyclops, he makes sure his crew doesn’t die from the Siren’s songs, and he had the favor of Zeus against the men he fought for his kingdom, highlighting that he was the hero in Zeus’ eyes. Odysseus having the favor of Zeus is a big deal because he taught good meaning, Odysseus is a hero.
Women began to transition from a passive role of house keeper to a more active role in society. This was the New women, When men returned from world war one life as the once knew had changed drastically. The modern women was now economically independent and self sufficient. This started many cultural conflicts as many disagreed with woman's rights and claimed they had a separate role in the world which wasn’t in the work place and didn’t deserve the same freedoms as men. Progress Of Women In The 1920 's and 30 's Back in the 1920 's women started becoming extremely significant in the society. Before then, women rarely found jobs that accumulated a high enough income to raise a family. However this act of sexism changed in the early years of the 1920 's, women began to get involved in male dominated jobs. This time it worked, women were finally getting their say in political issues and they eventually got the chance to speak up. The government realized the types of distress and discomfort women went through to keep a healthy lifestyle for their young ones.

Additionally, women were seen as objects and could be beaten and her rights were that of a black slave without a vote and owned by her husband. Therefore, many female reformers began fighting for women's rights, temperance, and the abolition of slavery (319). The individual and authentic relationships that met up, and often split separated the movements for women’s rights that existed since 1877, have advanced over the ensuing century. The oppression of women is evident throughout all of the 19th century. From household duties to health issues, women received unfair treatment. After being placed in the hospitals, the unfair treatment continued to affect the women.

During the 19th century modernization and the changing nature of work had changed throughout the United States. More women were seen in public shopping, attending theaters, and amusement parks, which ultimately led to a more co-ed interaction in society. Men engaged in prostitution, drinking, and gambling during their leisure time, which caused them to spend even more time outside of their home. In the 1800’s women were given no rights. The hierarchy in America back then was rich white, men poor white men, white woman, black men, and black women. Back in the day women had no education so they didn’t . They stayed home and took care of the house work like cleaning, cooking, groceries and lots more.
