Women from all around the world had taken on more responsibilities and more independent roles, in the process they had gained a voice for their own rights and freedoms. After many women had broke out of their shell, they began seeing what they could truly accomplish. Women began demanding their right and freedoms politically and socially because they believed that if men got rights, women deserved equal rights. Furthermore, after stepping up to such drastic roles during the war, women were entitled to their freedom and rights. Women were tired of being limited, they wanted to be independent. They didn’t have a voice, they could not stand up for themselves because they were thought of as less. They wanted to own land, work for their own money, and join in political offices and be able to make a change. The battle to win rights was a long one. Organizations and rallies were put together, petitions were being signed, women were being arrested and thrown in jail, all for an amendment that should not even be controversial.

Many women actually believed that women should not gain the right to vote and were against the suffrage movement because they blamed women for how things ended up with their businesses. But in the 1800s women were expected to make children, cook, and clean. They were also constantly overlooked by their husbands and“did not have the rights to their children if they were divorced” while “all their income would go to their husbands” (Nashville Public Television).

The 1920’s is the most live time in U.S. History. From the movements towards women rights to Prohibition, this decade was fruitful and dancing with joy and fear. The gladness arrived from the start of the exponential explosion of the country’s economy, where the wealth of the land doubled and people could go from shoddy farms to millionaires. Following suit was the movements of women rights and their ability to vote. With every smile there is a tear to follow.

When they are born, women belonged to their fathers, brothers, or any other male family member. Considering remaining single was a taboo, women were usually sold to men to become her husband. Women’s rights in 1900s in Europe There is a word called ‘Feminism’ that is important to the world. The word Feminism means ‘The support of Women’s rights on the reason of same and equal genders’. This word ‘feminism’ came from French to report an incident that had came new to the historical main point. In 1920, women gained equal rights after a lot of protesting; 95 years later, same-sex marriage became legal in a fairly similar manner. Just like women, gays still do not have the same equality as the rest of society. After 95 years some women still receive less of a pay then men with the same position or title , and women still are belittled with derogatory sayings quotes and comments such as “women can’t drive.” Although the fight for equal women’s right will still live on until everything is equal, the comments will most likely will never stop. Gays as well are not fully accepted.
