One of the most pivotal moments in American history. The Civil Rights Movement. Several prominent figures of the Civil Rights Movement such as Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy used their words to inspire and motivate people to act against discrimination and injustice. These words were carefully crafted to convey a message of hope, justice, and equality for all. The literature of the Civil Rights Movement helped demonstrate and spread the message of equality and justice for all. In my first piece of evidence of words used to provoke change during the civil rights movement is through speaking. The most famous example of this is Martin Luther Kings “I Have a Dream”. This clearly shows how he believes we should not be treated like this and should be treated with the same respect and rights of any human being. You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom." (Malcolm X, 1954) This quote clearly emphasizes the how peace and freedom play a role in each other and how they are interconnected. One cannot exist without the other, therefore creating an imbalance without one another. Although Malcolm X’s quotes tended to be a bit controversial and very proactive, he got to the point and was powerful and influential. He believed in taking action to achieve change, rather then waiting for it to just simply happen. In conclusion, The Civil Rights Movement A.K.A one of the most pivotal moments in American history.
