The Industrial Revolution was a time when factory machines started to boom and replace the hand man labor. The main factory business that started the revolution was the textile companies. They were however many inventions made during the revolution, for example, the sewing machine. The Industrial Revolution caused many families to move to the cities in order to gain jobs and money to provide the necessities for their families. Since many families were moving towards the cities, the factories became very crowded and the workers had to work in harsh conditions. The workers would work for long hours, around 16 hours a day, 6 days a week. They were only give Sundays off to go to church and worship God. Since the underclass children were also working in the factories they were not able to receive educational benefits like the wealthier kids. The factories also failed to have safety protocols. The factories were dark during most of the time because they would use the light from the sky and have no air conditioning. Everything in the factory was exposed and overcrowded by the many machines in the building and having few workers work many machines. The factories were very dirty and musty. Working in the factories caused a lot of health problems in the workers. Some workers were get lung diseases because of the conditions and some were got their bones broken because of the many injuries they would receive while working. There have been times were women had to cut their hair short because it would get caught in the machine and could kill them. The Industrial Revolution did bring new laws into place that helped the workers learn safety conditions, earn better wages, have strict rule on how many hours they can work and the age
