World War I and World War II were devastating conflicts that forever changed the way wars are fought. Never before had the world seen such rapid technological advancements and military might. World War I saw the first aircraft, submarines and tanks, though crude by today’s standards, they were much more sophisticated than that of the wars that preceded them. The technological advancements of aircraft, submarines and tanks changed the way wars are fought for a long time until new big and better things are created.

The aircraft in both wars were similar and different in many ways. In World War I as well as World War II, the aircraft held one to two pilots. However, the cost of the aircrafts used in the first war soared from around $8,000 to $650,000 by the time the second war began. The aircraft in World War II went from $97,010 up to $649,584. In the first war, submarine production was around 650,000 tons and in the second, submarine production dropped. As you could expect, prices also dropped when production went down. Submarines in WWI cost roughly $1 million while submarines in WWII costed $120,000. The submarines in WW1 were a little smaller than the ones in WWII. The submarines in WWI could hold 76 soldiers. Meanwhile, the submarines in WWII could hold 80. The first submarines were only able to go 11 mph and travel a distance of 12,630 miles. As time went on and WWII approached, submarines were built to go 23 mph and travel a distance of 11,000 miles. Weapons on the submarines varied between the two wars.
