World War 1 is one of the most historical wars that ever occurred not only in the United States but the whole world. Even though the U.S. has been involved in many wars throughout the world. This war stands out to a lot of people, including myself. I will talk about what caused the U.S. to enter war, how this war is considered a “great war,” and how World War 1 impacted the U.S. Furthermore, President Wilson wanted the United States wanted to stay neutral during World War 1. Soldiers were fighting in trenches, and they died there as if the trench itself became their grave. It was a war where many great nations were involved, the U.S., Great Britain, France, Germany, etc. This war was not like previous wars where they used swords or horses. Soldiers were shooting each other with more advance guns, throwing grenades, and also used chemical warfare. We had lost so many soldiers. After the war, the U.S. had created alliances with Europe. Also WW1 led to WW2, after WW2 was over, the United Nations was formed. However, during WW1 this caused social changes to the United States. Culturally, women were considered house wives, and were not expected to work. Since men had to go to war, this allowed women to work, and shifted the whole U.S. culturally because they were able to work. The economy was growing in the U.S. and the country also had become an economic super power because of industrialization of commerce. Politically, the U.S. refused to get involved any part of the war, and kept this type of isolation attitude which was good. To conclude, one of the “great wars” might have been deadly and we lost so many American soldiers. Our heroes were keeping us free during that time. Arguable, they are still keeping us free, and definitely safe from foreign terrorists. This war cost us to lose men but we still won and gained freedom. It
