Many factors played into the start of World War I like nationalism, the arms race, the lack of balance of power, Sebians assassinating the Archduke of Austria-Hungary, and alliances, but there is one big cause you can argue that started the war. Tension between and within countries caused leaders of the countries and groups to spark rebellions of the groups, and one thing after another a World War was on their hands. Germany's tensions between France and Russia started alliances. Serbia had sparked the first rebellion by trying to gain independence from the mother country Austria. Europe was thought to be in a strong position, but at the end of 1918 the position was reduced.
The Industrial Revolution greatly impacted Europe and allowed them to start Imperialism. Europe started colonizing other countries and it became a competition. It soon started to get violent and thus began World War I. The causes of World War I were Militarism, Alliances, nationalism, imperialism, and assassination, but the most important cause was nationalism because all of Europe wanted to create their own national pride for their own countries, and they started ethnic issues.
World War I was a big moment for America, a time when an nation involved itself in world affairs and began the rise to the economic and military power that America is today. The people of America were affected by world war one in many ways. They were first limited to what they could buy including sugar so that they can provide rations for countries. Full freedom for colored people was a problem in other words there were second class citizens. Finally we went into an everlasting chain of fighting were all these countries were fighting and sticking up for each other and it was just a huge big fight that america didn't need to get involved in.
World War 1 Causes There were lots of countries in Europe whose militaries were getting bigger and stronger. There were many people who were proud of their country and wanted to protect it. Also bigger countries wanted more so they tried to take from smaller and less strong countries. Next, countries worked together to be stronger but if one country had a problem with another then all the other countries would get involved. The main causes of World War I were strengthening of the military, loyalty to a country, era of conquering, and partnerships between countries.
World War I also had a huge impact on the American foreign policy. The U.S. was isolated but came out of isolationism to join the war. “... Neutrality is no longer feasible or desirable where the peace of the world is involved and the freedom of its peoples…” (Document 4). In his speech, President Woodrow Wilson was telling the U.S. that we were joining the war because he wanted to keep peace in the world for democracies and their people. Another way WWI changed the U.S. foreign policy was by getting attacked and fighting back, taking us out of isolationism.
There were multiple causes of the first World War. World War I started on July 28, 1914, and ended four years earlier on November 11, 1918. This War was between the Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy) and the Triple Entente (Great Britain, France, and Russia). Some countries had really big militaries that were very strong and some countries had very small and weak armies which caused those countries to be threatened by the bigger militaries because they were scared that they were going to attack them. Imperialism started around 1760 and lasted for a very long time.
When World War II broke out for the United States in 1941, America was inadequately prepared and quickly the conflict within the conflict became how to provide enough supplies for the American troops. The OPA and American president Franklin D. Roosevelt soon developed a solution in Ration Books, a way to limit the amount of products Americans could consume. Though this put strain on Americans at home, they were willing to compromise for the good of the American troops. The war had been going on for almost 3 years before the US entered the war.

He felt this best for our nation, as did the American citizens. We wished to avoid all foreign entanglements. The United States wanted to stay neutral during World War I. America had the right to trade with both nations, Britain and Germany; America decided not to trade with Germany, because they would had to defy British blockade.
So the first main cause of the great war was that forces had been pushing Europe for war. For a long time for some reason, I don’t know why. Therefore, Europe was going to do something about it. So they went to war about it.
World War 2 and its Effect on American Society The 1930’s witnessed the rise of aggressive, totalitarian regimes. After World War 1, Germany became a fascist state under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini started to gain political control of Italy, and Imperial Japan became ever more aggressive to its Asian neighbors. This was all leading up to a global conflict. With Germany invading Poland in 1939, the world was again in a state war.
