More than 70 years ago, the very first superheroes debuted atrocious times of the Great Depression and the early years of World War II. Their names became legend—Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, and others. Superheroes are the Greek Gods of secular modern life, which means that they are the figures that fight the problems of the human world. Many Americans were worried with anxiety and insecurity, making them hungry for heroes. This escalating global conflict offered the budding medium of superhero comics a perfect villain. Almost every Golden Age superhero was friendly, but none had bad behavior. During the Great Depression, many citizens face hardships. The number of poor increased dramatically due to the banking crisis and a shortage of jobs and the unemployment rate was approximately at 25%. Children were hungry and malnourished.
