April 27,2018 Education and Autism Autism spectrum disorder affects about 1% of the world's population. Autism has unimaginably increase in the United States, one out of every 88 children in the United States is affected, people are calling it autism epidemic. Autism causes many crucial issues in areas of development in children such as verbal and nonverbal communications,social interaction, and sensory processing. Children with autism may have problems understanding and communicating their needs to others. They can have a hard time understanding directions and instructions. Leo Kanner and Hans Asperger two physicians who brought Autism to the light and identified it as a discrete pathological disorder.
