One second they are stalking their prey, then they strike. The Burmese pythons are overpopulating they Everglades and eating everything. They have no natural predator other than humans. Humans are the reason that they are in the Everglades. Humans have even started events so that they can kill more Burmese pythons. These animals are affecting the Everglades they are eating everything, they have no natural predators besides humans, and humans are the ones that let them in.
A python's jaw allows it to eat anything 5 times the size of the python. According to source 1 by Matt Piven paragraph 2 “The python’s unique hinged jaws allow it to swallow an object five times as wide as its own head”. This means that they can eat almost anything that they want in the Everglades. They can eat anything from small birds to gigantic alligator. According to source 4 by EcoEchoes, “An exotic pet dealer’s warehouse that housed nearly 900 Burmese pythons was destroyed, and many of its pythons escaped.” This means that around 900 Burmese pythons escaped and when loose after an exotic pet dealer’s warehouse was destroyed. Burmese pythons in the Everglades are a man-made problem. They should have never been there if the humans would have treated them properly. According to Source 4 by EcoEchoes paragraph 2, “Their appearance in Florida is totally a man-made event, largely the result of the lucrative exotic pet market.” This means that pet markets that are selling them are the reason that they are in the Everglades because the humans that they are selling them to are letting them loose after they get too big and they are escaping from the pet
