The art work the Strangest Fruit by Vincent correlates with the famous poem Strange Fruit, performed by Billie Holiday. As the song depicts the lynching of African American in America, the art work painted by Valdez also describes the lynching of Mexican immigrants in Texas in the early twentieth century. Additionally, both works deeply express a somber and hauntingly tone that accurately demonstrates the struggles and persecution that the minority immigrants faced in the United
"Fanfare for the Common Man" by Arron Copland was composed in 1942, and was written during World War 2. The contrast between the loud, bright, assertive tones and the soft, slightly mysterious tones that you hear within the music is quite unique. The spirit and form of this piece gives it that almost inspiring and patriotic feel. This piece is orchestrated from various trumpets, horns, trombones, tubas, timpanis, bass drums, and gongs.
The Poietic Aspect of Hendrix 's "All Along the Watchtower" Jimi Hendrix, probably one of the greatest guitarists of all time, in 1968 covered "All along the watchtower," a song originally written and performed a few months earlier by Bob Dylan. Even though Hendrix 's admiration for Dylan 's work was well known , his choice to cover a song belonging to a completely different music genre is emblematic. So why did Hendrix decide to cover Bob Dylan 's "All along the watchtower?" In this paper, I will argue that Hendrix 's cover of Dylan 's "All along the watchtower," thanks to its lyrics and sound dynamic, optimally conveys his anti-war and anti-violence beliefs.
Theme: Friendship Song: “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” – Randy Newman “You've got a friend in me. You got troubles then I got them too. We stick together, we can see it through cause you've got a friend in me.” Justification: This song relates to the relationship George and Lennie had because even though Lennie was always getting in trouble, George was beside him no matter what. Also, when they got to the ranch, Slim said to them that is not common to see such good friends like George and Lennie, who travel together and look out for each other.
“Depot Blues,” sung by Son House, is a song unrelated to working or prison experiences. It is, however, a love song that has entertainment purposes. In Alan Lomax’s recording, House describes an experience at a train station. He desperately wants his old significant other, whether his ex-girlfriend or ex-wife, who he lost to return to him. In the 4th verse, House states that if he were strong enough, “[he] would set this train off the track” (from c.d. liner notes).

In the song “Just Like Fire” by Pink the narrator tells the listeners how someone should be happy to be unique and how boring the world would be if everyone was exactly the same, and how everyone wants to be the same but she likes to stand out and be her own person. Pink also gives examples of similes, metaphors, hyperboles, Allusions in her song “Just Like Fire”. The theme of being unique from everybody else is expressed through the song, “No one can be just like me anyway, just like magic” is an excellent example of the theme. In addition to the part of the chorus the literary devices in the song also display an acceptable appearance.
E SONG “I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU”, AS SUNG BY DOLLY PARTON AND WHITNEY HOUSTON The song “I Will Always Love You” is one of the most iconic songs of the 21st Century. This song has been widely covered by professional artists and cover singers until today. However, two of the most iconic renditions have to be from Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston. If I were to compare these two renditions, I would prefer Whitney Houston’s version of the song.
The Executioner's Song is written from an authentic perspective regarding the sanity in a convict such as Gary Gilmore. “The novel was a thematic study from the perspectives of his attitude toward the death Penalty and Gary Gilmore as a death convict,” says a critique analyzing Mailer’s book. The 1000 page book is broken into two parts, the first part is all about Gary Gilmore’s crimes. The music in the song has an upbeat and appealing tone to it with excellent lyrics, which made it a top 40 song in the U.S.
The lyrics from the song ‘Words’ by the Bee Gees is an example of the true meaning of the power of words. The line which says ‘’It’s only words, and words are all I have’’ means that that person has nothing left to offer to the one they love but only words. It shows that since the person has nothing else to offer, he decides to use words to make the person fall in love with him because he knows that words have the power to change someone because they are powerful. These song lyrics are similar to the Book Thief, when Liesel read her book to Frau Holtzapfel so that the words from the book could give her comfort in this time period. Same the artists use it to change the person so that she could fall in love with him and Liesel could change
