Although there are many other people to choose from, Lindsay Lohan is a great example of a modern tragic hero. She grew up in the wealthy parts of the Long Island suburbs located in New York. Both her parents had very profitable jobs. Her father took over his family's business as well as being a banker, and her mother worked as an analyst. Lindsay’s tragic flaw is impulsiveness.
This quote from Jodi Picoult shows how words have the ability to completely change the way someone thinks or feel when they are used negatively or positively towards someone or a big amount of people. When words are used in a negative way towards someone, they are like eggs, described by Picoult, they make a “mess” because they leave someone feeling incomplete and sad. Words, when used positively, have also the power to make someone feel better about themselves. In the Book Thief, this quote shows that Hitler’s use words have the power to persuade people to believe in his political views which leaves them to go against an entire group of
Karina Pasian. “16 @ War”. First Love. June 16, 2009 16 @ War is the first song you hear when you listen to my album, I choose it to be first because it introduces the things that teenage girls in low poverty neighborhoods and household go though.
Music carries each and every one of us to a new awareness. It can reach to the innermost part of an individual. Music can envelope our emotions from tears all the way to our joy. It captivates and motivates. As I attended a concert on Saturday, November 7, 2015, Lynyrd Skynyrd performed with power and feeling to their audience.
Theme: Friendship Song: “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” – Randy Newman “You've got a friend in me. You got troubles then I got them too. We stick together, we can see it through cause you've got a friend in me.” Justification: This song relates to the relationship George and Lennie had because even though Lennie was always getting in trouble, George was beside him no matter what. Also, when they got to the ranch, Slim said to them that is not common to see such good friends like George and Lennie, who travel together and look out for each other.
1. After viewing the documentary and listening to each song by Rodgers and Hammerstein the song that made the most impact on me was the song “Some Enchanted Evening.” The song consists of very smooth and romantic melodies. Due to that I am a hopeless romantic I really enjoy the song lyrics and melody. The song was very catchy that I ended up singing the song for the rest of my day.

War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. This a song lyric from a song called War written by Edwin Starr. In this song he talks about the horrors of war and the meaninglessness of everyone's deaths.
“What’s Going On” I believe protest music is any song that is associated with change or the defiance of a prior principle. It does not matter if the song or genre was written for the purpose of revolution or if the song is a rally cry or only meant to spread awareness, but if the lyrics and the feeling of the song invoke those ideas, it may be considered protest music. Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” was written about the Vietnam War, but people choose to interpret the song as a cry for civil rights. A song does not need to begin as socially aware to be considered a protest song because it’s about how it’s interpreted by others and used.
The song describes most of what is going on in the story. For example, “We found him with his face down in the pillow With a note that said I’ll love her till I die.” These two lines in the stanza are very descriptive. Using detailed lines makes a better understanding for the audience. It makes the song become more realistic.
The five song playlist that I chose is Fireworks, Set fire to the rain, The way, Love the way you lie and Firestones. All of these songs relates to the novel in different ways. The song Fireworks by katy Perry relates to the novel Fahrenheit 451 because in this song it is saying if you ever feel Like a plastic bag drifting through the wind wanting to start again. Guy Montag had committed mistakes that he might regretted.
As time passes, people often think of their pasts and what they have done in their life, both positively and negatively. The lyrics of the song resonate with everyone, even the famous singer Macklemore who produced the song “Good Old Days.” In the song, he reflects on his past and the times he missed or regretted. Macklemore also writes “We’ve come so far, I guess I’m proud” which also shows that he’s happy with the choices he made and that they have gotten him to where he is now—a famous musician and writer. The music in the song has an upbeat and appealing tone to it with excellent lyrics, which made it a top 40 song in the U.S.
In this paper I will be discussing “American Idiot” by Green Day as a protest song. A protest song, “is a song that is associated with a movement for social change and hence part of the broader category of topical songs or songs connected to current events” (Google, 2015). People who feel strongly towards a certain political view within society create protest songs, and this is the only way they know how to express their opinions. Protest songs can come in many different musical genres such as folk and rock music.
Words in The Book Thief demonstrates that words and language have immense power. Words can be used in a negative or positive ways. Hitler used words to spread propaganda in a fallacious way which led to deleterious human beings. The people (Germans) that lived during the war were credulous about what Hitler said therefore their life turned out to be debacle. Hitler used words to deceive and outsmart the others, he implanted words and images into the Jews heads to think a certain way(Zusak, Markus Frank.
It adds to the imagery by adding the wind and personification also takes place in this stanza which is defined as giving a non – human thing, human life like qualities and abilities. In the following stanza, “Tonight I can write the saddest lines. I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too.” The speaker introduces the first detail of their relationship and points to a possible reason for its demise when he admits “sometimes she loved me too.”
