Yuny and Renenutet is a sculpture from the New Kingdom, Ramesside period in the nineteen dynasty. It’s a sculpture from Egypt, the regin of Seti I in the date of ca. 1294-1279 B.C (Met Museum). Today Yuny and Renenutet is a sculpture that is located at the Met Museum in New York City. Yuny and Renenutet can be compared and contrasted to Menkaure and the Queen and Senusret III. Yuny and Renenutet are statues with traditional customs from the New Kingdom. Both Yuny and Renenutet are figures that demonstrates the ideal affection within family and within themselves. This is why I chose to speak about Yuny and Renenutet. It’s a couple that emphasize their royalty, wealth, and affection throughout the sculpture.

As I mention before, Inscription are located around the sculpture. The beach is divided into two scenes divided into two registers with Yuny and Renenutet making and receiving an offering. Also, the ground line is placed between the two registers. In both registers, all figures have a composite profile. Yuny and Renenutet are also seated on a similar chair like the one they are seated in with similar clothing.

Yuny and Renenutet are husband and wife. They are sitting down together on a bench. It’s a beach that highlights their bodies’ curves emphasizing their wealth. Both figures have fashionable traditional customs from the Ramesside period. They are joined together to create one single unit. Yuny is united to his wife a symbolic gesture of embrace.

Both Yuny and Senusret III are wearing a headdress emphasizing their power and royalty through it. Senusret III has a royal traditional headdress on his head behind his ears and Yuny has a fashionable wig as a headdress in front of his ears. Senusret III has a stun arched forehead and Yuny has a much more relaxed forehead. Yuny has almond shape eyes, meanwhile Senusret III has submerged eyes with sagging eyelids. Senusret III has full lips in a frowning position, but Yuny has lips ingrained deep into his skin in neutral linear position.
