The ancient artifact Stele of Naram-Sin, dates back to the time of r. 2254-2218 BCE. This piece was from Sipper and was found at Susa Iran. The artifact is made from an eye-catching pink limestone, which is a type of rock combined with calcium carbonate. The height of this monument is 6’6” (1.98 m) and can now be found in Musée du Louvre, Paris. This artifact is a fairly large upright stone, conveying many aspects of the culture that were practiced and portrayed back then. This gives archaeologists who found this, an exceptional insight into a piece of history.

The first line up of men consist of four people and the line above consists of only three men. All figures are presented in a composite like pose, showing both the profile view and the frontal view. Naram-Sin the larger figure and the seven smaller men are in a military like pose. Their left arm is held inward to their chest, with their fists against their stomach, elbow bent and their right arm is lunged backwards gripping hold of a spear. Two other men are seen on the far right side of the stone, one above the other, standing on a ledge.There is another man below the two higher ones directly at the bottom carrying no weapon and his left arm is directly above his head, his hand is flowing in a graceful motion and his right arm is folded behind his back.The man in front of Naram-Sin has a spear lodged through the front part of his neck. There are two men beneath the human with the spear through his neck, that looks to be dead hanging in a very lifeless position; they aren’t showing much strength and look to be defeated in some way. The man standing directly behind the two men who are killed and injured, is seen holding both his right and left arms elevated towards his
