In ancient cultures, mythology was created to explain natural phenomena and different forces of nature. These cultures put together a system of gods and goddesses to rule certain areas. They gave the gods specific attributes and powers which reflected the values of the people. Two people groups who used mythology were the Greeks and the Norse people. Though entirely separate, many of the gods from each group had similar qualities and reflected one another.
