Observation Activity Paper #1 Description of the Observation The child I have been researching, is my 10 year old little cousin. He has a problem of wetting the bed at night. I asked him, my aunt and uncle a series of questions of how his bed-wetting problem affects him and some basic information on when he first started to learn how to go to the bathroom by himself. First, he said he is afraid to have sleepovers with his friends because he is afraid he will pee the bed at his friend’s house and be embarrassed. Second, I asked my aunt and uncle when he was potty-trained. They said they started when he was 2 and 4 months. He was fully trained at 4. What I defined to my aunt and uncle as fully trained was, going to the bathroom on his own without any rewards of going to do his business. Third, I asked my cousin what he tries to do to stop wetting the bed. He said he tries to go use to the bathroom, before bed and stop drinking liquids an hour before he goes to bed. Finally, I ask my cousin what my aunt and uncle does when he wets the bed. He said sometimes they get mad with him about it, but he also said that they do try and help him by not letting him drink an hour before bed. …show more content…
It is actually mostly his parents fault. Bed wetting is an inherited by your parents (Rice, 2015). Some of the bed wetting genes are on your 13, 12, and 8th chromosome. It says we get these genes from both our mom and dad (Rathus, 2014). If a trait like bed wetting comes from more than one gene then it is called a polygenic (Rathus,

A. 1. He will only go to sleep sucking his bottle – contravenes a services safe sleeping policy 2. He requires his environment to be dark and silent – impossible to implement. 3. Goes to bed cuddling a teddy bear.
Therefore, his bed-wetting is his way to show his vulnerability. To add to his confident
Co-sleeping is a hotly debated topic between mothers and scholars alike. Should children and infants sleep with their parents or should they sleep in their own space? Many people believe that co-sleeping is vastly superior and has numerous benefits, short-term and long-term, while others believe that co-sleeping is dangerous. A large divide between those who are for co-sleeping and those who are against it comes from cultural differences in the Western world and everywhere else. I will be arguing that co-sleeping is natural and that parents should be encouraged to co-sleep with their children by pediatricians and parent educators.
• Practitioners must ensure they wear disposable plastic aprons and gloves when changing nappies. • Practitioners should engage with the baby or young child to ensure the process is as pleasant as possible, and so that the child does not become distressed. • Practitioners should make note of any abnormalities when changing a nappy and should inform the supervisor and parent. Toilet Training • Encourages children to develop independence. • All children are individuals, and will be ready for toilet training at different times.
This gave him his own little world that he could own and no one else could see him, where he could completely just relax. A while ago I did the same thing but with a blanket and duct tape since the top bunk had a railing on it. The reason why I did it was because I was sharing a bunkbed with my brother and the house was always very loud, completely filled with people who were always making lots of noise. The basement bedroom was the only place in the house not constantly filled with other people, it did have people coming in and out through. So, it was very nice when I put up the blanket it was like I had created my own little piece
For the parent-child interaction observation, I decided to use my community park as the public setting. My observation consisted of watching the interaction of a mother and her two sons, who seemed to be twins around the age of six or seven years old. I observed the interaction from afar without them being aware that I was observing, which allowed me to note a true naturalistic observation without manipulation of the situation. The setting of the interaction was a community park, where a mother and her two sons of Indian ethnicity, were approaching a basketball court area. The mother began to strap a helmet on one son because he was about to ride his bike, while the other son was walking alongside them holding a basketball.
Thus, when a child shows distress they should be immediately removed from the study. In addition to this, the findings show that after the test, a lot of the children discontinued wetting the bed, taking a bottle and there were no negative changes in sleep pattern (Bain et al, 1958). Therefore this may have impacted the psychological field as the features of the experiment may have lead to these neutral or positive changes in
Delayed functional maturation of the central nervous system may reduce the child's ability to inhibit bladder emptying at night. 1- The child's bladder fills, but the sensory output resulting from bladder stretching is not perceived or the message fails to reach the brain, failing, thereby, to inhibit bladder contraction. Functional bladder capacity is small in some children with nocturnal enuresis .
Introduction – Background information This paper is about child observation. I observed a child, Daniel (coded name). He is four years and two months old. Daniel is 103 cm and 18 kg.
Urinary incontinence, the loss of bladder control, can also be called enuresis is a problem with many different age groups. This is caused by sympathetic dysfunction. Sympathetic dysfunction affects many systems of the body such as the the cardiovascular, reproductive, and even urinary. Enuresis is a medical term used more towards children meaning involuntary urination, referred to bedwetting most of the time (Silverthorn, 2013). The International Continence Society defines incontinence as “a condition in which involuntary loss of urine is a social or hygienic problem and is objectively demonstrated (Viktrup, 1993).
When I asked about Ashly’s toilet training Ashly’s mother told me that she started to train Ashly when she just turned one. She said it was very hard for Ashly and her to start that early. But, her grandparents push her to start toilet training in early age. Her mother sometimes got mad at her and spanked her when she couldn 't control her self. She ended up to fully trained when she was two years
Classroom Observations Mrs. Canada is the first grade teacher that I observed, and the subject that she was teaching was reading. She had planned well-organized power points and crafting materials in advance, so she was prepared for the lesson. The two times I observed, the lesson that was being taught at both times was reading. Children in the classroom used a lot of previous knowledge for the lesson.
Parents toilet training their child too early can lead to results of child being uptight and overly obsessed with cleanliness, order and control. This is also known as anal-retentive. On the other head, when toilet training is trained at the right time, the child’s personality is more likely to be messy, aggressive, stubborn, emotional and rebellious. This is called anal
