Introduction Have you ever heard of the Villisca axe murder? Well if you don’t know what it is you are about to find out. The Villisca axe murder story was one of the biggest murder mystery's of all time. In 1912, eight people were murdered in there bed while they were fast asleep. The murder weapon was an axe that belonged to one of the victims. To this day the murder has never been solved, the murderer has never been revealed. Before the crime The day started when the family of six went to church, (Josiah Moore, Sarah Montgomery Moore, Herman Moore, Katherine Moore, Boyd Moore, and Paul Moore) after church they had children's day activities. Later that day friends of the Moore children(Lena and Ina Stillinger) had planned to spend the night. Josiah Moore had called the Stillinger home to ask permission for the girls to spend the night. Lena and Ina's older sister answered the phone and said that she would pass on the message to her parents because they were outside. The Presbyterian Church had and annual event called the Children's Day Program, the event started at about 8:00 p.m on Sunday evening June 9th. Mrs. Moore coordinated the exercise's, all of the Moore children participated including the Stillinger sisters. It is believed that between midnight and 5:00 p.m, an unknown suspect enter the Moore home and brutally murdered the 8 victims with an axe. The first two victims found were Lena and Ina. When Lena was struck in the head, she had squirmed down in the bed. The axe was found in the room of the stillinger sisters. The axe belonged to Josiah Moore, who was one of the victims. the ceilings in the children's and the parents bedroom had gauge marks in them from the axe. The
