2. What are some of the infractions that would result in immediate termination? Having to decide to terminate an employee is not an easy task for a manager. Therefore, one of the disadvantages of a manager is to put your feeling aside and take action on the employee’s misconduct or violation towards the organization. With that being said, managers rely on the organization’s policies and procedures for steps on how to handle an immediate termination. There are many different types of infractions that an employee can violate According to Heathfield (2016), she states some situation that could result in termination: • Violation of the company code of conduct or ethics policy, • Failure to follow company policy, • Breach of contract • Violence or threatened violence, • Threats or threatening behavior, • Stealing company money or property, • Lying, • Falsifying records, • Extreme insubordination, • Harassment, • Failing an alcohol or drug test, • Conviction for some crimes, or, • Watching pornography online (Heathfield, 2016). In my opinion, I have been informed by many different people who have previously worked or are currently working in a union job. With this knowledge of those different people’s perspectives towards unions, have helped me gather a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages created by unions.
