Piggy is truly the brains behind Ralph’s leadership on the island. He comes up with all of the ideas, such as calling the group together by using the shell and taking names as a source of accountability; however, he is unable to carry out his ideas due to a lack in assertiveness. “We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting. They’ll come when they hear us” ( 16) .
Piggy’s Literary Connections Golding writes, “A great clamor rose among the savages. Piggy shouted again” (180). William Golding connects Piggy in the Lord of the Flies with symbolism, foreshadowing, and tragedy. To begin with, in the Lord of the flies, William Golding uses symbolism to describe the importance of Piggy and his glasses.
In third novel The Lord of the Flies by William Golding the characters are all innocent when they first get to the island. They are some boys that are happy they don't have any adults and there are others who are not. Ralph is a character who shows innocence in the beginning of the novel when he tells everyone Piggy's nickname even though Piggy told him not to "he's not fatty. He's real name is Piggy!" (Golding).
Today, Jack killed a pig. He and the other hunter boys painted their faces and danced to a war chant to get pumped up for the hunt. The group eventually found the pig, surrounded it, and stabbed it to death with sharpened sticks. Jack and the boys have become very aggressive and violent. They are constantly obsessed with killing pigs, rather than worrying about the fire like I do.
Overtime, while stranded on an island the children from the book, Lord of the Flies at first are scared about not getting saved. After a while, on the island, the kids realize that they may not be getting saved and they start to go wild and don’t care about life anymore. To try and keep the kids in order Ralph calls meetings to get everyone together and talk about what needs to be done. From the beginning of the book to the end everyone and everything has changed dramatically. Throughout the book there are multiple meetings, each changing every time, but also having similarities to them.

Author, William Golding, in his novel, "Lord of the Flies," follows a group of British boys who are stranded on an uninhabited island and try to govern themselves. One of the boys, Piggy, is constantly bullied and considered a nuisance by the power-hungry boys on the island. Golding's use of an isolated setting in the midst of the other boys illustrates Piggy's struggle to liberate himself from their oppression. However the need to survive reveals Piggy's inventiveness and rational mindset.

On the other hand some people think the schools need to change up the menus. They think that the current school lunches is why we have so many obese kids right now. This is not the case because the children who are obese is not only because of the food they are eating it's because they do not get enough exercise. Changing the school lunches overall would not be beneficial because the food they are eating is not the biggest part of why they are obese.
Is having junk food in school really such a bad idea? Does it obtain a value that some schools lack? Junk food was provided in school, before the health program came into place, banning it from schools around the country. It was proudly served and allowed in school, and also sold for many school fundraisers. Although some people might say that junk food can be unhealthy, schools should allow, or serve, some junk food because it will make the kids want to eat school lunches more, it will bring in more money to the school, and it will give the students the calories that they need.
Journal 4 Summary End of life issues can impact the older adult in numerous different ways. Illuminating meaning is something than an older adult can spend a great deal of time doing. Often times an older adult near the end of their life spends a lot time pondering what the meaning of life is and whether or not they will be remembered when they pass on. Even though many aren’t, some children are vegetarians or they only eat low-fat foods. Some children may only eat some of their lunches because they don’t eat meat, or they don’t like all of the calories. School cafeterias should offer a vegan lunch, for health reasons. First and foremost, most schools don’t provide a separate lunch line for other people, like vegans and children who are on diets which they should. Vegans don’t eat meats, and some of them and other people who may have diabetes, don’t need all of the fried foods because it is bad for them.
Imagine a school that has multiple healthy school food options, that is worth standing in line for. I think that all schools should have a healthy school lunch. It's very important to have nutritious school lunches so that we can be healthy and have energy during the school day. I think we should have better and healthier school menus. Our school menus are very high in cholesterol and saturated fat.
