In The Taming of the Shrew Baptista Minola favours his younger girl, as Katherina thinks that Bianca is his “treasure” (II, i, 32) and this part is carried in the film as well as she assumes that her father, Walter, wants her to be more like Bianca. In the end the two sisters switch places as Bianca punches Joey, therefor, acting more like Kat than herself.
