Good morning, or whenever you’re are reading this. I had recently read a book for a class it was called 101 Tips for Youth Sports Officials by Bob Still and from the Referee Magazine and the National Association of Sports Officials. The book was about like the title said it was about tips what you should do before, during, and after the games or how to deal with a certain event or situation. At times they would share stories with you how a ref handle a situation and then they talked about personal stories of how they messed up or they did something good. They talked about things in the past that were helpful to them and used to better their refereeing. I would change that and put in more tips instead of stories to learn from and then put in more tips. That is my only negative of the entire book honestly otherwise I liked it for the most part my favorite part was when this ref made a mistake on a touchdown and they were all dumbfounded and confused because no one blew the whistle on the play so the player ran for a touchdown. That is such a huge mistake it made laugh because how do you forget to a whistle or how do not have someone blow a whistle. Than certain subjects in the books were good and I learned a lot from it a good one was ”Review the book each day” it’s short and simple but it’s honestly a helpful tip look at book and learn it so when it comes crunch time you’ll know the rules. Another thing I enjoyed in the book is they talk about how a ref’s job is never done yours always working you’ve got to stay up to date with the rules and current players and studying for the next game. Another thing I enjoyed was some of the tips they gave you especially when they talked about before game pregame stuff a ref needs to do which is a lot more than I would have thought they need to get loose, meet the coaches, watch the players, and maintain focus but be
