The movie Twelve O’clock High is a movie that depicts turbulence between members of the 1949 8th, Air Force who flew daylight bombing missions against Nazi Germany and occupied France during the early days of the American involvement in World War II.
Upon the opening of the movie the viewer is shown the aircraft, inscribed is a message stating “Where Angels and Generals Fear to Tread” this encryption sheds light on the seriousness of the war.
The 918th is in charge of deploying strategic daylight precision bombing of the German targets, to achieve this it placed the aircrafts in a great deal of danger in receiving corresponding losses of the men and the aircrafts.

Savage continuously shows leadership throughout the film, he is fast to discipline, train and accept challenges to build pride in others, he believes in training and accepts challenges.
Savage proves to his crew he wants to promote leaders, when Lt. Colonel Ben Gately does not rise to the occasion he is demoted and placed on the Leper Colony plane with the worst manned crew. Lt. Cobbs is promoted to second in command and becomes Savages right hand man. As the film progresses Lt. Cobbs becomes like a son to Savage, earning Savages respect and teaching Savage about the other men on his crew.
When Savage and Cobb fly a mission together, a successful mission, Cobbs informs Savage that Major Stoval and the Sargent that Savage had previously demoted had been stowaways on the mission and turns out the Sargent is an excellent gunner. When it is time for Savage to reprimand them, Savage chooses to recognize these two crew members and encourage them to next time take the correct action. Once again, when tested, Savage displays
