The aerospace engineering in Texas A&M has a vast field of exploration leading to advance technology in space exploration, air transportation, national defense, communication and sustainable energy. The student speaker in the video was proud of their field and were satisfied with the job. Everybody wants a job that makes them happy and that is exciting and enjoyable. The advance technology studies in aerospace engineering are an interesting filed as the technologyis growing day by day and more advance technology will be develop and astound the world. Who knows in 2 or 3 years we will have a flying car and bike?

Regan’s use of ethos, logos, pathos was to make an emotional connection to the families of the Challenger Seven, and to the citizens of the United States. President Regan establishes his credibility and trustworthiness by his credibility as the President of the United States and saying that the Seven were seen as heroes. Regan says, “but they, The Challenger Seven, were aware of the dangers, but overcame them and did their jobs” (Regan 2). Regan wanted the people of the US to know how brave these The Challenger Seven really were. Regan than follows with this quote, “we mourn seven heroes: Michael Smith, Dick Scobee, Judith Resnik, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Gregory Jarvis, and Christa McAuliffe” (Regan 2).
Speeches are used to commemorate points of history, and inform the general public of the product of their history but what makes a speech so impacting on it’s audience? Rhetorical devices give speeches and works of literature a way that can convey feelings or ideas to a viewer. When addressing during times of war or chaos, people such as Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill used these terms to better connect with their audience. Without these tools of the english language, dialogue and literature would be all the more dull and unappealing. However, with these useful instruments, writers and speakers can better communicate through some of the many rhetorical devices.
Karl Marlantes, in his book What it is Like to go to War argues that, “concepts of loyalty change…and warriors have to cope with that” (134). Marlantes supports this thesis by presenting a strong emotional appeal to the audience and supporting his appeal with ethos and logos. He mentions that he, “was facing a hard choice between duty and heart…as a unit or even ideals and loyalty to a person” (139). Marlantes uses ethos and pathos to connect the reader with sympathy and have credibility for being a part of a unit.
There is a notable difference in the tone of translations of Black Hawk and Petalesharo. In “Life of Black Hawk”, the writer, Black Hawk is angry and his words show great contempt for the whites, accusing them of deceiving and lying to the Indians (Black Hawk B: 351). He claimed that the whites had no right to occupy their village because the Great Spirit had given the land to the Indians (Black Hawk B: 351). In the narrative, Black Hawk accused the whites of bringing whiskey into their culture in order to take advantage of them. Even though the whites committed many atrocities against the Indians, the Indians did not retaliate, therefore indicating that the Indians were a peaceful people (Black Hawk B: 352).
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
A major theme in A&P is personal freedom. Throughout the story Updike uses metaphor for all elements in the story to implies the theme. At the beginning of the story, Sammy uses sarcastic tone to describe the customers as “sheep” and “houseslaves” which implies he is different from them in mindset. The way how Sammy talks about others shows his intellectual mind. He is not same as Stokesie who wants to be a manager one day.
Middle School Get Me Out Of Here James Patterson Rafe adjusts to his new school by acknowledging the school’s art programs and classes and by causing a little trouble with Zeke and Kenny. For instance, after Mrs. Ling gave Rafe and the other students a tour around the art section of the school, Rafe thought that the new school was extraordinary and that “seventh grade was looking up, up, UP!” (Page 57, Patterson). In addition, after Zeke and Kenny made Rafe look like a total fool during the critique, Rafe and his new friend Matty threw rubber glove balloons filled with water at Zeke and Kenny as their revenge.
War reporter Ernie Pyle in a eulogy about the aftermath of D-day titled "The Horrible Waste of War" (1944) explains and details the events of D-Day before the beach is cleaned up. In order to communicate the scene before him, Pyle uses a cataloging of images, irony, and imagery. Pyle seeks to write a lasting remembrance of the sacrifice of the soldiers on that beach. In remembering the soldiers, Pyle is cognizant of the interest his audience will have, an audience of Americans, family member, friends, and loved ones. Pyle uses symbolism and repetition to organize his article.
As Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Donovan Livingston, a graduate at Harvard Graduate School of Education, has similar views on education. His passionate and inspiring speech called “Lift Off” was given at HGSE’s Commencement Ceremony on May 25, 2016. The speech discusses the importance of education as well as the obstacles and injustices students, especially those of color, have experienced throughout history in getting an education. Livingston’s graduating classmates who are becoming teachers, as well as teachers and educators in general, are the audience of his speech.
The United States is made up of some of the most diverse and interesting cultures in the world. Jamila Lyiscott proves this by showing her different dialects and how they are all equally important. Lyiscott believes that the way she speaks towards her parents, towards her friends, and towards her colleagues are all one in the same. Throughout the entirety of her speech, Lyiscott changes up her vocal patterns and dialects so that the audience can understand first hand what each of these dialects are. When she talks about her father, Lyiscott uses her native tongue, when she talks to her fellow neighbors and close friends she switches it up to a more urbanized dialect, and when she is in school she masks the other two dialects with a professional sounding language.
Unfortunately she is unsuccessful in the aspect of logos but successful in pathos. In this statement it seems as if she is making a claim without offering proof to support her

When rallying soldiers to fight for their country, one must balance inducing anger toward the enemy and making sure the troops know when to show mercy. For instance, if a country or an army is overly malicious, everything and everyone could be destroyed, or another war would begin because of the soldiers' merciless lust for power and violence. On the other hand, if the troops are not aware of how dangerous and deceiving the enemy is, they may be tricked, outnumbered, or ill-prepared. A perfect balance of retribution and clemency is crucial when war is waged. In "The War of the Unknown Warrior," Winston Churchill was able to balance mercy and righteous anger in his speech just before Operation Sea Lion, the German attack on Great Britain.
