Racial relations since the 1930s
Racial relations have improved quite a bit since the 1930s. Back in the 1930s colored folks barely had any rights at all, but now everyone is equal most of the time. I think that racial relations have improved since the 1930’s and I’m going to explain how. First of all, the cop scene. In the 1930s colored people would just be pulled over or stopped for no reason. They could just be walking down the road and they would see the lights flash even if they did nothing wrong. The cops back then just loved to harass colored folks and that has changed a lot. Today colored people don’t have to worry about cops when they go outside. Cops look at black people just the same as everyone else. Back then if you were anything but white, good luck winning in court ever. No matter how innocent you were you would still be convicted as guilty. Mainly because the jury was always racist white people. No blacks or any other race were allowed to be in the jury. Today, the jury is equalized, between whites and blacks so the trial is always fair and everyone has a fair chance of going free. Finally, schools. Back then, in the 1930s, schools hardly had white folks and black folks together in a school. There was always white schools and then there were black school, and the black schools were always worse than white schools. They had hand-me-down books and old desks and things like that. Today, there is all races in a school, no separation of blacks and whites. Everyone receives the same teaching and same chance to go to college and get a well-paying job.
