Alliances were formed to provide security and maintain peace but tensions about the possibility of war only intensified. For example, the United States other countries joined to form NATO in 1949 to rely on each other for security if the Soviets attack (Document 4). The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was to specifically protect allied countries from Soviet attacks. To counteract this, the Soviets made the Warsaw Pact in 1955 (Document 8). The countries allied with the Soviets were mostly from the Soviet bloc or the eastern side of the iron curtain.
As a result, it has helped many areas experience lower rates of poverty and higher living standards. Technological Advancement: Globalization has expedited the global dissemination of information and technology. Rapid breakthroughs in science, technology, and communication can be attributed to its ability to ease the diffusion of inventions and knowledge.

This organization is still in effect today, and marks the ultimate downfall of isolationism in America.(“History of the
Globalization in the past 80 years has connected our world exceptionally well compared to the years before. Just under 80 years ago, when World War II ended, people saw an opportunity to grow together and learn from past mistakes. Globalization has brought the world together which has caused poverty rates to go down, work systems to become stronger leading to more accessibility, and overall life expectancy to increase. Globalization has forever changed the ways of the world and will continue to benefit people by bringing us together to become one substantial world. Globalization has benefited our world involving the decrease in poverty rates.
But globalization has extremely accelerated the extent of the negative effects. There are definitely a lot more benefits of globalization. For example, more people are getting paid what their worth. In the past people would work more to be paid less money, but now people work less and get paid more. This is because of new strategies and tools we've gained from globalization and the sharing of ideas across nations making it easier to produce and distribute, and inflation.
The Warsaw Pact and NATO were two military alliances formed during the Cold War, with the former consisting of communist nations in Eastern Europe and the latter consisting of democratic nations in Western Europe and North America. One major difference between the two alliances was their ideology. The Warsaw Pact nations, led by the Soviet Union, were communist and believed in a centrally planned economy and a one-party system of government. On the other hand, the NATO nations were capitalist and believed in a market-based economy and a multi-party system of government.
During the time of the Iliad, women were considered property. Women did not have important roles, and they were most needed for men’s sexual desires, and to bear a son who will carry on the man’s legacy. However, women are essential in the epic Iliad because they are not all portrayed the same way. For example, Chryseis, the priest’s daughter, and Briseis, Achille’s reward, are both labeled as a war prize. Though, on the contrary, Andromache, Hector’s beloved wife, is inspirational as she attempts to change Hector’s mind.
“Do you want a treat?” “Do you want to go for a walk?” “Let’s go for a ride!” Those of us with animal companions all know these phrases because they are spoken very often. The animals may bark, or purr, or tilt their head.
When it comes to comparing the past with the present, the idea of globalisation is deliberated quite often. The twentieth century coined the term ‘globalisation’ as international organisations were introduced, aiming to reduce trade barriers and maintaining healthy global trade relations. On the other hand, the twenty-first century induced a fear of globalisation as companies were outsourcing their production allowing certain societies to continue development while others remained constant. In June 2016, Brexit (Britain’s exit) took place because the majority of the United Kingdom (UK) voted to leave the European Union (EU). This event exhibits people disrupting the political mandate by voting against cultural and economic globalization.
As established in the previous paper, globalization has a major impact on the individuals and society as a whole. It reshapes social structures and significantly alters the social experiences of the people. Social phenomena such as intersocietal as well as intrasocietal inequality and conflict are associated with the increased connectivity of the world. Such social realities spark the interest of sociologists across the globe, as they study the relationship between individuals and societies. To facilitate their endeavors, sociologists utilize sociological theories that study society on the micro- and macro level.
Globalization made negative and positive impacts on Vietnam in economy, culture and environment respectively. Globalization, particularly economic globalization, has positive and negative influences on Vietnam. Before globalization, the level of the economy in Vietnam was low that people could not get food and clothing. Vietnam was a backward agricultural country which had the visible gap between social classes(VOV, 2006). By co-operating with overseas corporations, local companies in Vietnam increased the volume of business.
“How does 21st century globalization differ from 20th century globalization?” Globalization heavily implies the opening of local and nationalistic perspectives to a broader outlook of an interconnected and interdependent world with free transfer of capital, goods, and services across national frontiers. It also occasionally discusses the less common dimensions of globalization, such as environmental globalization or military globalization . Those dimensions, however, receive much less attention the three described above, as academic literature commonly subdivides globalization into three major areas which are economic globalization, cultural globalization and political globalization. The evolution of globalization is still open for debate according to some scholar’s dates back to Ice Age when people used to travel in search of food, trade and security.
Globalization and Nation States Globalization has integrated and intertwined the economies of the world. In the world today, every nation has become independent on every other nation, be it through trade or through finance. Developing countries today are attracting large rounds of foreign investment, and this foreign investment is coming from the developed countries. Thus, the money of the developed countries is today invested in the developing countries.
