We can all agree that majority our lives have been committed to school, and some may say it had been terrible for them. Waking up early before the sun rises, seeing random people that may cause problems just because of their social status, or having strict teachers that have no care for their students who are unable to understand lessons and enforcing them with the threat of an F. But for others some would say it was an okay experience, they did not mind the time school started, got along with others and were average students who did well. In the article “20 Life Skills Not Taught In School” by Jake Akins, he explains that he has picked up several life skills that schools are lacking to teach the young minds. According to Jake Akins, the children in this generation are being known as the “silent generation” because all they do is “text” instead of speaking due to all of the “mediums that do not require actually speaking to anyone.” Communication is an important skill for everyone because it helps many out with relationships with people, such as co-workers or partners. Also, many students are only taught a bit of the “Bill of Rights” and are not even aware who their “mayor” is. This authenticates why many question their teachers and schools about education. From what Jake Akins asserts, public schools do not bother to fully go in-depth on important topics that their students could use when they exit the building. How do they expect for the next generation to be successful if they do not know what laws there are nor know how to talk to someone without the use of texting? From “What Are You Really Learning at School?” by the New York times, from what was told by the “experts” they fear that schools “aren’t teaching kids the skills they need to succeed” because they are taking academic tests and question if those test actually teach the students anythings that relate to life. They encourage students to comment their thoughts about school. Several comments are seen as to what was expected, some students believe that school isn’t necessarily because they are learning a boring and complex topic that is difficult for them to solve. One person expressed how was the complicated math skills was going to help him pay his bills. This demonstrates that no special life skills are being taught to students because now on this website, many are revealing (snitching) about how useless it feels for them. Also in “How, High-Performing Nations Teach Global Skills.” written by Heather Singmaster, she informs about several nations’ education such as China, India, and Singapore. Each of these nation has a similar specific goal, which is teaching their students more of the world and help them figure out what they are special in. In China, they have decided to cut off complex math topics for the children and bring them more into science, by encouraging them to study and be invested in “ real-world applications”. Such as
