I like writing all my notes out when studying for a test rather than simply reading off the slides given to me. I use this tactic when studying for every test. I use all of these methods to effectively learn, making me multimodal. In Chapter four we learned that there is more than one type of memory.
I believe that my greatest asset is I have excellent interpersonal Information Technology (IT) skills which I acquired while I was undergoing industrial attachment at Brunei Shell Petroleum and Ministry of Education through interactions with different individuals from different background and it makes me comfortable performing different kinds of software, hardware and programming tasks ordered. I pride myself in being a hard worker, patient, fast learner and a results-oriented person with very high integrity. I am also self-motivated, highly motivated team players who are dedicated to quality, thrive on challenging and rewarding opportunities and are driven by a passion to succeed. I have strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail. I am practiced at working on several assignments simultaneously, performing support and analysis roles across range of development and maintenance projects throughout my studies.
Through learning activity 1, children can think about not only their own family structure also others who are participating in the group as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, gives opportunity to understand and respect the others that sit equally beside ways of being, knowing and doing. It encourages children to create an attitude and willingness to explore differences in individual and different values, beliefs and practices. According to Green (Green, 2001), children are naturally curious and interested in the differences and therefore it is important to explore their questions with simple answers to assist them to redefine themselves and their place in the world. Through learning activity 2 children get to introduce to the aboriginal culture and the concepts of flags and symbolism they represent.
I have learned to plan my time around working with my animals and chores, while also playing sports and doing my homework. These life skills are so important, and I am grateful that I got to learn
Arrange your chores around your study time. Delegate some duties to people in your household if it helps you. If you are on a budget, plan your meals in advance. As an example, I stock up on salads during the week and I let my boyfriend take me to dinner and help me with chores on the weekend.
My new mantra for life became “Train harder and smarter.” My new mindset allowed me to achieve long-term success while not compromising my health and encouraging self-destructive behavior. The perfectionism and diligence I had developed after years of training translated into my schoolwork. My hard work and attention to detail allowed me to maintain high marks throughout high school; however, it made me obsess over results by putting too much pressure on myself and getting frustrated when my grades were short of my expectations. As a result, I found an efficient way to structure my studying so I could get good grades while enjoying the process of learning and not burning myself out.
My note taking has also improved with the methods i have been instructed in. If my friends or others desire it, I will assist them in bettering their study habits as well. It is better for us all in the long run. I am hoping to keep these, and other practices, in memory when taking future classes and in improving my
From Sean Covey’s book “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens”, we learn seven habits that help change teenagers change into better people and more successful in whatever they do in life. He starts with explaining the different paradigms people have in life and the habits of a highly defective teen. Although all aspects of the habits were related to each other, I was able to relate the most with habits 1: Being Proactive, 2: Beginning with an end in mind, 3: Putting first things first, 4: Thinking win-win, and 5: Seek first to understand, then be understood. Habit one is being proactive means taking the initiative to do things and not waiting for it to happen on its own.
Because one wants to achieve “deeper processing” (Gilhooly et al, 2014) or semantic encoding while studying, a more interactive method of studying is required. Each study method has certain concepts and methods that should be practiced altogether for ultimate efficiency. Verbal study methods include writing out important information or describing diagrams in one’s own words. Visual study methods include creating one’s own diagrams such as a mind map or possibly using different coloured pens or highlighters to correspond to specific sections – anything visual or imagery based. Auditory study methods could include reading information out loud, recording it and playing it back.
