Experience has taught me that by having a daily agenda, it is possible to pursue an online degree while working, connecting with family, and partaking in leisurely activities. I’m pleased with the online Paralegal Studies program at Penn Foster and I appreciate the convenience of turning in my assignments at my own pace. However, at home, I follow a plan to complete my homework and beat off any distractions. I recommend that you make a weekly priority list for your assignments and find what needs to be read, reviewed, and turned in for the week. Let your family and friends know your study period so they know not to disturb you. Try to find a serene study space that has adequate lighting, access to study materials, and a computer. Concentrate on your studies and attempt to complete a large part of your schoolwork during the week. Arrange your chores around your study time. Delegate some duties to people in your household if it helps you. If you are on a budget, plan your meals in advance. As an example, I stock up on salads during the week and I let my boyfriend take me to dinner and help me with chores on the weekend. This frees up about two hours of my time, which I invest in doing my homework. If you’re a pet owner, pick certain days and times to tend to your animal friend. For instance, I take my pooch for a walk every evening, but only clean the yard every other day. This has saved me about an hour during the week. Planning will put your mind at ease.
