It is general knowledge that kids love to be a part of extracurricular activities, and schools can be very stressful for many kids. From grades to social life, hatred can develop towards school. For some, schools can be the complete opposite. It can be a place away from home that brings joy and happiness. What is a plan that meets the needs of every student around the world? This new plan, called the 50/50 plan, lets one experience both online and in-person learning. Schools around the world only have the option to be online or in school, but what if schools gave a new option? This new option will allow students the freedom to pursue as many activities as they like, but still have a well-rounded education. Furthermore, the article, “Why Are Some Kids Thriving During Remote Learning?” by Nora Fleming, written about an English teacher's experience and opinion on the matter of online school and the freedom of the plan states, “.they enjoy the freedom to work at their own pace and decide how they want their day to look.”(Students). Kids who need to travel for sports or other activities and may not be able to attend school in person have the option of attending an online school so they don’t have to worry about falling behind. When they are ready to go back into school or need to, they can with this new plan. One may say that many students should learn to find interest in everything on their own. They have a point in thinking like that, but it is hard for one to like everything they learn in school and have the motivation to continue learning about that topic. Humans are complicated creatures and it takes time for us to find the passion that we want to do for the rest of our lives. In the article “7 Top Challenges With Online Learning For Students (and Solutions)” when the writer wrote about the lack of motivation found in online learning, they stated, “Due to the lack of face-to-face interaction, some students find it hard to focus during online classes. The physical absence of teachers or classmates takes away the sense of urgency and motivation that students need to attend classes on time, meet deadlines, and make progress”(Challenges).
