Throughout the unit I have learned about what we have done to make sure nobody gets mistreated in the country. Sometimes it’s the government that mistreats us though. We have unalienable rights established that aren’t supposed to be taken away under any circumstance but that government takes them away anyway. In today’s government we have these principles set up so nobody can become too powerful in the government and so the people are equally represented in the best way possible. There are six basic principles that our government follows. Those principles are limited government, federalism, checks and balances, separation of power, popular sovereignty and judicial review.
