The US Constitution Our nation was anxious and ready for complete freedom. When the final signature was done our nation was finally by itself. 1787 was the end of something dreadful and the beginning of something great. In the summer of 1787 the delegates from every state gathered in Philadelphia to sign the US Constitution. What did the US Constitution create in means of principles for the US government? Three basic principles created by the US Constitution were separation of power, federalism, and individual compromise. One of the principles created by the US Constitution was the separation of powers. Separation of powers basically means that the government has different groups of and each group has a certain job. Each groups job is no more important than others, so for one to work you have to have another to either back it up or help construct it. Federalism in the US Constitution is giving the states certain power over their states and a certain say in what goes on in their country and then giving the nation limits and jobs and what they are allowed to do to change what the US has going on at the time.
