After listening to and responding to the Story Corps interview about 9/11 I knew a lot more about how people who lost family members felt after and during that horrible day when the World Trade Center was attacked by terrorists, but I still had a lot of questions like how many people really died on 9/11, what was the general feeling of the people who were waiting for lost ones on 9/11, who was responsible for 9/11, what has the US done to punish the people responsible for 9/11. In this essay I will talk about these questions and the information and answers I have found to these questions. How many people really died on 9/11? I knew a thousands of people died and even more were injured, but I wanted to know how many people in total were injured or died. After a while waiting for anyone claiming responsibility for this horrific act it was discovered that an Islamic extremist group Al-Qaeda was responsible for this. Al-Qaeda is located in Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations. What has the United States of America done to punish the people responsible for 9/11? After it was found that Al-Qaeda was responsible for 9/11 the United States went to war to try to find Al-Qaeda to punish them for what they had done to us. In 2011 after multiple failed attempts to kill the leader of Al-Qaeda US special forces kill Osama Bin Laden.
The previous question leads me to one more question that I was curious about which was if Al-Qaeda is still a terrorist organization or if it was stopped after its leader was killed. I have found that it is still a group and while you don’t hear about it very often any more with the rise of Isis many people still believe that Al-Qaeda could come back larger and stronger than ever.
