government was involved in the September 11 attacks, a number of effects took place in the lives of people. Many people decided to adapt to the idea that the American government was involved so blame could be placed on someone. This was a way for them to handle the tragic event and make sense out of what took place (Norman). Americans did not feel in control of the situation and although “…believing George W. Bush helped plan the September 11 attacks might make you feel in control, it doesn’t make you so” (Koerth-Baker).
Just thinking that one of your family members could be dead right now if one flight wouldn 't have been canceled is kind of a scary feeling. 9/11 changed America forever and it will never be the same. Many people sat in front of televisions and radios listening hoping there loved ones would come home. Some even expected calls. Al Qaeda attacked the WTC for many reasons.
After the horrific events that happened on september 11th, 2001, a wave of patriotism swept over the nation. Whenever news reporters tried to report on anything that wasn 't completely for the war on terror, they were considered unpatriotic and hurting the effort to stop terrorism for good. Pressures to report an official story and the consequences of using unverified facts lead the country to believe that some of the justifications for certain actions against terrorism were correct. When people found out that facts weren’t being reported, this made the public question all of the stories in the news. A certain trust in the government was also lost.
However, we did not know that at the time. Everyone’s emotions were high and worried about loved ones. It’s hard to say Americas “overreacted” to the situation when our world was changed in the matter of only a few precious minutes. Throughout this article Krauthammer is trying to connect with fellow Americans. Nevertheless, there are most likely very few Individuals who agree with his stance on the argument.
The 9/11 attacks were very devastating and many families lost loved
”is logical that America was attacked since it is known for its opportunities and freedom which makes it a target for terrorism. The 9/11 tragedy was a scary awakening for America and the world. President Bush used the emotions of the country to communicate his platform and brought the country together.
The U.S. government increased military operations, economic measures and political pressure on groups they accused of being terrorists, as well as the governments and countries they belonged too. October 2001 is when the first military action initiated by George began, in which NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) invaded Afghanistan in order to remove the Taliban,(which held the Al-Qaeda) and to capture Al-Qaeda forces. Bush’s administration also created the Department of Homeland Security. Soon after Congress passed Aviation and Transportation Security Act which we still use to this day. He helped shape our governmental forces to become stronger.
Irrational fear swept over America, the American people wanted to feel safe and protected by their government, so they did the only thing they
The 9/11 tragedy was a moment where people had their guard up at all times. This was a time where life had strike to reality of time warfare with every person and country. Couldn’t trust no one that came to the U.S. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, were brave because the generations before us had to face what had happened and to what is going to happen. This had left the buildings torn instantly killing hundreds of many people, getting them stuck in the higher floors. This attack was the worst in America ever since the Pearl Harbor All over our nation saw a major impact of devastation in the face of the September 9, 2001attacks.
The events that occurred on September, 11, 2001 were among the most catastrophic events in American history. The events of the day were summarized as 19 militants associated with the terror group al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out targeted attacks in the United States. Out of the four planes, two of them were flown into the World Trade Center in New York, a third one into the Pentagon in Washington and the fourth one crashing off course into a field. The attacks resulted in the deaths of over 3000 people and the beginning of a soon to come American counter terrorism policy and the subsequent invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Although there are a lot of conspiracy theories around the real motives and players behind the attack,
Today World today is full of terrorism attacks, we know about France, Russia, Lebanon attacks, and all of those attacks happened in 2 weeks. It is obvious that we have a serious problem in the world right now. On friday 13, 7 attacks happened in Paris, 129 people died, 200-300 wounded. IS took all responsibility for that.
The shock and disbelief of 9/11 revealed that America felt that something like this could not possibly happen to us. It showed that the security of our country had been compromised
9/11 will never be forgotten, it happened almost over 15 years ago and if you ask anyone that was there our watching it live they will remember what they were doing during it. My opinion about Congress suing Saudi Arabia is that America should be allowed to Sue them because it will give the families of the falling closure they are missing. Tons of families today still are very sad for the family members that they have lost and if they could go to Saudi Arabia they would go and bomb something of theirs that has lots of people to make everyone feel the pain they have to feel every day of their life.(http://kut.org/post/why-families-911-victims-want-sue-saudi-arabia) During the 15th anniversary of 9/11 the House was under pressure to follow suit. Many members of the House are looking for the person who paid the hijackers it’s going to be a tough task because it happened over 15 years ago a lot of people have come and gone in that time. Here are a quote from one of the family members "I want somebody to be tried and convicted and executed," Mathers says.
“If we learn nothing from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.” This quote comes from Sandy Dahl , the wife of the pilot on flight 93. When thinking about 9/11 this quote comes to mind because on that particular day, the world was reminded how short life really is. This quote also intertwines with 9/11 because it teaches us how there is no time to hate, but to move forward and help each other hand in hand. Even though I was only a year old when September 11th happened, I want to understand this horrific event that went down in history of the United States.
“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” George W. Bush delivered this speech on the night of the September 11 attacks. The shattered steel of the Twin Towers, once towering the New York City skyline, forever changed America and its response to terrorism. The largest foreign attack on U.S. soil appropriately gave reason to Americans to recoil in fear and lose trust in the future, but in reality, the country displayed the opposite reaction.
