September 11th, 2001 changed many lives in the U.S. and around the world in many ways, but what are perhaps the most heart-breaking of stories are the accounts of those whom could not escape. I cannot imagine the emotions that would be running through your mind in a situation such as this. The confusion, horror, anger, sadness, or fear that would possess you. From the accounts of the victims that I have read, one of the overhanging emotions on these people's minds was hope. In a way, though it would be comfort to themselves, that hope may have made it harder on the people they had contacted. Many of the people in the top floors of the towers truly believed that they could get out; that someone would save them. The all-encompassing helplessness
